The Mutual Fund industry is evolving, and now Mutual Fund Distributors (MFDs) can expand their scope by distributing Specialized Investment Funds (SIFs).On July 30, 2025, AMFI (Association of Mutual Funds in India) issued a new circular (CIR/ARN-29/2025-26) opening doors for individuals like you to enter the SIF space. Here’s everything you need to know:
Who Can Apply?
If you are an individual distributor with a valid ARN (AMFI Registration Number) or EUIN (Employee Unique Identification Number), you can register for SIF distribution.
But there’s one condition:
You must clear the NISM Series-XIII: Common DerivativesCertification Examination.Registration Process for Individuals
If you already have a valid ARN/EUIN, you can apply for SIF registration separately.
If you are applying for a new ARN/EUIN, you can opt for SIF registration at the same time.
All registrations and renewals will be managed by CAMS (Computer Age ManagementServices Ltd.) on behalf of AMFI.For individual MFDs and EUIN holders, the validity of your SIF registration willalways match your NISM Series-XIII certification validity.
If your ARN/EUIN expires, your SIF registration automatically becomes inactive.
Once you renew your ARN/EUIN, your SIF registration will be active again (as long as it is still within its validity period).
Fees for Individual Distributors
Here’s the good news—registration is affordable
SIF Registration Fee: ₹3,000
SIF Renewal Fee: ₹1,500
For Employees/EUIN holders: ₹1,500 (registration), ₹750 (renewal)
Fees are subject to 18% GST.Communication Compliance
Once registered, every time you communicate (whether in print, online, or digital), you must clearly mention:- Your Name
- Your ARN Number
- AMFI Registered Mutual Fund Distributor
- AMFI Registered SIF Distributor.
This ensures transparency and compliance with AMFI’s guidelines.
