Fri Jun 7, 2024

Many student (especially those who’re from non finance are on the hunt of finding the important finance news for thier research & analysis

Here we’ll cover the important news websites I follow for my analysis and you (as a research analyst) can follow as per your requirement:

a) ET Prime: This covers the majority of your subscription and daily finance & economy intake. If you’re the 1st time user you get the TimesPrime subscription where it offers diverse subscription at low cost or free for a certain duration. Here’re the overall TimesPrime offerings

It has a smart dashboard priotizing the news and political events (they doesn’t entertain much the Bollywood or entertainment content)
It has all the things that a Research Analyst need for understanding stocks (screeners, IPO reports, stock reports highly detail, industry wise news, ET exclusive, etc.)

In Shorts: This will be your favourite due to short news & articles highlights that gives you brief about what is overall happening in the market

Money Control: Similar to ET Prime but what you get something extra special here is:
- Insider transaction summary with accurate info to analyse any violations or future collaboration of the co.
- Bulk & Block deals (A bulk deal is a trade where total quantity of shares bought or sold is more than 0.5% of the equity shares of a company listed on the exchange) (Transaction of a minimum quantity of 500,000 shares or a minimum value of Rs 5 crore.)
- Diverser Broker Research: Get all the brokers research reports at one place (giving different views on each stock) Plus there’s REFINITIV Report powered by MoneyControl who’ll give thier own insights
- Money Control Forum : MC members comment thier views openly by displaying the community sentiments
- MC Technicals: Breaking down technical indicators, moving averages & moving averages crossovers
- MC Insights; Financials, SWOT analysis, industry comparison, shareholding pattern, and price are expanded as per their studies and presented nicely in diagrams/

There’re many other websites which offers financial updates, but at a student level I feel these 3 are enough for you.

Having a budget problem?
a) Use your student ID card & college mail ID to get a discount on ET Prime
b) Share your A/c with friends to crowdfund any of the 3 subscriptions
c) Enquire at your college about any extra facility available for buying these subscriptions. As in some colleges LinkedIn premium is given for free for the 1st year to build students’ professional network
d) Seek help from professor: Prof. would always have atleast 1 of the above subscription, you can ask them to share the access until you get your 1st stipend/salary :)

Consider these financial resources as a very valuable investment for your finance career (you can say ‘dynamic finance notes’)

If have any questions, put them below to clear them ASAP.
